Kinglake Road landslip repaired
The emergency repairs on popular roadie route, Kinglake Road, have been completed.

The steel plate has gone, the road base has been stabilised and the surface and line marking has been replaced.

Transport Victoria engineers originally identified a damaged culvert 5 metres below the road surface and temporarily closed the road before discovering there had been a landslip at the location.

The site is on Heidelberg-Kinglake Road between Marriott Lane and Haffenden Lane in St Andrews.

Completed works included:

  • replacing the damaged culvert (drainage structure) located 5 metres below the road surface
  • reconstructing the embankment to repair the landslip
  • rebuilding the road pavement
  • improving drainage to help effectively manage water run-off and prevent future erosion.
