Central Coast Council is inviting public comment as it develops a new walking and cycling strategy aimed at increasing active transport in the region.
The strategy has five focus areas:
-
enhancing bicycle network connectivity and accessibility
-
making walking and cycling safe and comfortable
-
increasing walking and cycling participation
-
increasing walking access to key destinations
-
providing trip facilities in the right places
The new strategy will reflect the active transport needs of the local community and align with Transport for NSW's Strategic Regional Integrated Transport Plan and the plans of neighbouring councils.
Council is inviting community members to drop pins on an
interactive map to show their priority members for cycling and walking infrastructure.
Community members can also share their insights by completing a walking and cycling strategy survey or booking a time to speak with a council representative in person in November or December. Details are available on the
council's website.
Community consultation closes 23 December 2025.
