Upfield Trail closures

Further closures of the Upfield Trail are scheduled during January.

Construction of the new substation at the rear of the Brunswick Tram Depot is well underway adjacent to the trail in Cameron Street.

The path will be closed each day between 7am and 5pm on:

  • Tuesday 13 January
  • Wednesday 14 January
  • Thursday 15 January
  • Friday 16 January

Detours will be in place via Colebrook Street.

Traffic controllers will be in place to assist safe movement around the works.

Note that there may be further closures depending on the weather.

 

Previously

Upgrade works at the rear of the Brunswick Tram Depot will temporarily close a section of the Upfield Trail from Thursday 23 October.
 
A new substation is being constructed near the rail corridor along Cameron Street between Peveril and Tinning streets.
 
The shared path along Cameron Street will be closed periodically between Moreland Road and Tinning Streets, with a detour on the other side of the rail line along Colebrook Street.
 
Works will be underway from 7am to 5pm each day (Monday to Saturday only, excluding Sunday and the Melbourne Cup public holiday).
 
The trail will be closed on the following dates: 
 
  • Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 October
  • Tuesday 28 October
  • Wednesday 29 October
  • Thursday 30 and Friday 31 October
  • Thursday 6 November
  • Friday 7 November
  • Saturday 8 November
  • Wednesday 26 November
  • Thursday 27 November
  • Tuesday 2 December
  • Thursday 4 December
  • Friday 5 December
The works are part of a major project to upgrade the Moreland Tram Depot to support the new generation trams that are soon to be deployed across northwest Melbourne.
