A major intersection upgrade in Wantirna South will provide opportunities to upgrade bike connections and better links to the nearby Blind Creek Trail network.
The federal and state governments are investing in the upgrade of the intersection at High Street Road and Mowbray Drive.
Preliminary planning is underway and community feedback is being sought on how the upgrade should proceed.
This area generates considerable bike traffic, but facilities are mostly underdeveloped.
This project can improve active transport and road safety if properly designed.
The project team will be in the local area to answer questions and seek feedback this Saturday 28 February from 10am to 3pm at the Knox Gardens Community Hall, 56 Argyle Way, Wantirna South, VIC 3152.
Online comments can be offered at the

The upgrade is currently in the planning phase and includes developing a project design, traffic modelling and site investigations to build a clear picture of existing conditions.
Initial planning work is to be completed in late 2026.
Riders should be aware that there may be some disruption to traffic in the precinct during site investigation works.
Victorian Minister for Roads and Road Safety Melissa Horne said the planning for upgrades at busy intersections like High Street Road and Mowbray Drive was critical to improving safety and reducing the risk of crashes for drivers, cyclists and pedestrians.
