After a monumental effort to provide a week of Bike Week rides in the south and north of the state our volunteer ride leaders are taking it easier this fortnight, although there’s still a good selection of rides across the state to keep you rolling.
Saturday 14 March – Kangaroo Bay to Risdon Brook Dam and back
The Kangaroo Bay to Risdon Brook Dam ride was canceled during Bike Week because of rain so ride leader Brian is having another go on Saturday 14 March.
Met him at 9.45 am at the Kangaroo Bay playground car park for a 31 km route mostly on well formed tracks away from roads with a few ups and downs.
There’ll be coffee afterwards in Bellerive, please RSVP in case of cancellation via https://ridewithgps.com/events/439307-kangaroo-bay-to-risdon-brook-dam-and-bac
Thursday 19 March – E-bike Coffee Club: Over the Bridgewater Bridge
A relaxed 38 km ride with fellow riders of e-bikes, the Over the Bridgewater Bridge ride on Thursday 19 March shows you the roads and paths to get to the new bridge and enjoy the views.
Meet ride leader Di at the upper car park at Cornelian Bay at 9.45 am to head along the Intercity Cycleway, Main Road bike lanes and then paths to the bridge.
There will be a café stop along the way, options include Baked in Moonah, Bean to Brew in Bridgewater or the MONA bistro at Berriedale.

Become a social ride leader
If you would like to be one of our social ride leaders, please email our Rides Coordinator with your contact details and what sort of riding you are interested in and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.
You don't have to be super fit or into competitive riding, our rides are a mixed bag depending on the interests of our ride leaders. They offer everything from short 1–2 hour rides, with stops along the way, to day-long excursions.
Our ambassador routes have been developed by our social rides coordinator Di with help from other riders. It's another way of helping more people to ride if you don't have the time to run regular social rides.
