O'Sullivan Road upgrade
O'Sullivan Road in Sydney's Rose Bay is set for an upgrade to make it easier for riders and walkers to use the area.

A planned 1.7-kilometre stretch will be upgraded, providing a new section of path with a two-way separated cycleway and a new, wider shared path for riders and pedestrians.

The new stretch will connect O'Sullivan Road to the existing pathways around Woollahra Gold Club and Royal Sydney Golf Club, and to Lyne Park and Rose Bay Promenade.

The path will help to better connect Rose Bay Wharf and Bondi Beach.

Additionally, two new pedestrian crossings are proposed for Bunyula Road (raised crossing) and Old South Head Road (at-grade crossing with signal control), in response to several local requests.

Trees along the road will be retained, with the path widened around them.

Ninety-seven percent of existing parking spaces on O'Sullivan Road will be retained.

Woollahra Municipal Council has the funds to complete this project, with construction expected to begin later this year or early next and take approximately six months.

The council is now inviting the community to provide feedback on the proposed plans. You can have your say using the online feedback form by 11.59pm on Monday 23 March 2026.
