Riders are advised to plan ahead for disruptions on several rail lines. Bikes are not allowed on board buses unless folded and in a bag the size of a Brompton; coaches have some limited capacity for bikes.
Belgrave Line
Buses replace trains between Ringwood and Belgrave from 10.30pm Friday 13 March to last service Sunday 15 March.
Cranbourne, Pakenham and Frankston lines
Services won't run through the Metro Tunnel or on some sections of these three lines from 8pm to last service each night, Sunday 15 March to Wednesday 18 March.
Buses replace trains between Parliament and Caulfield.
No trains will run through Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac stations.
Change trains in the city to continue through to Sunbury.
Buses replace trains between Westall, East Pakenham and Cranbourne from 8.30pm Friday 20 March to last service Sunday 22 March.
Buses also replace trains between Westall, Berwick and Cranbourne from first to last service on Monday 23 March.
Sunbury Line
Services won't run through the Metro Tunnel or on some sections of the Sunbury Line from 8pm to last service each night, Sunday 15 March to Wednesday 18 March.
Trains run between Sunbury and Footscray.
Change trains to connect between Footscray and the city.
Shuttle buses run between North Melbourne, Parville and Arden.
No trains run through Arden, Parville, State Library, Town Hall and Anzac stations.
Change trains in the city to continue through to Cranbourne or Pakenham.
Sandringham Line
Buses replace trains between Parliament and Elsternwick from 8.30pm to last service each night, Sunday 15 March to Wednesday 18 March.
Hurstbridge Line
Buses replace trains between Parliament and Hurstbridge from 8.30pm Friday 20 March to last service Sunday 22 March.
Mernda Line
Buses replace trains between Parliament and Reservoir from 8.30pm Friday 20 March to last service Sunday 22 March.
Werribee Line
Buses replace trains between Newport and Werribee:
- from 8.30pm to last service Sunday 15 March
- from 8.30pm to last service each night, Monday 16 March to Thursday 19 March
- from 8.30pm to last service Sunday 22 March.
Bendigo Line
Coaches replace evening trains for the entire journey from Sunday 22 March to Wednesday 25 March.
Geelong Line
Coaches replace evening trains between Southern Cross and Waurn Ponds from Sunday 15 March to Tuesday 17 March.
Bairnsdale and Traralgon lines
Coaches replace evening trains for part of the journey from Sunday 15 March to Wednesday 18 March.
Coaches replace trains for all or part of the journey from Friday night 20 March to last service Monday 23 March.
