Works begin at Sunshine Station
Riders heading to and from Sunshine Station over the coming months will encounter the beginnings of construction activities to upgrade the station.

Works to relocate underground utilities get underway on May 11 and will run through until September.

No major bike routes will be interrupted at this stage, but activities will be underway close by on both sides of the rail tracks.

On the city side of the station, the plaza and a section of the path to Dickson Street will be closed. Riders will still have access to the trail underpass of Hampshire Road.

On the opposite side of the tracks, part of the station car park and a section of the laneway along the back of the shops will be closed for a period.

The activities are part of the Melbourne Airport Rail project.

Stage One will invest more than $4 billion to deliver 6 kilometres of major rail upgrades from West Footscray to Albion, including transforming Sunshine Station into a superhub and building new modern and accessible stations at Tottenham and Albion.
