Upfield path detour for tram works
There will be another detour of the Upfield Trail in Brunswick as work continues on the upgrades to the tram depot precinct in Cameron Street.

From next week the trail and Cameron Street will be closed to traffic between Peveril Street and Prowse Street.

Bike riders and pedestrians can use the detour in place via Colebrook Street on the west side of the rail corridor.

Works will be underway in the area from Monday 4 May to Thursday 20 August, 7am to 5pm.

The path will remain closed during out-of-hours periods.

There will be some night works.

Nearby streets such as Tinning, Prowse, Cozens and Peveril will be accessible during the works.

There will be no changes to Route 19 tram services.

The Brunswick Tram Depot is being upgraded to support the addition of larger trams to the fleet, more trams in the depot and to improve accessibility and safety.

This will include the construction of a new tram terminus track along Cameron Street with new overhead wires and end-of-terminus facilities.

The Upfield path connection through the precinct is being retained.

Riders may also notice pole installation works and site investigations in the Cameron Street area between Wednesday 22 April and Sunday 3 May.
