As work on upgrading the Eastern Freeway continues from Tram Road in Doncaster across to Springvale Road in Donvale, there will be further temporary detours of the trail along the Koonung Creek.
Starting this month the path through the Eram Park area of Box Hill North will be re-aligned for about eight weeks.
Contractors are creating space to relocate sewers and realign a section of Koonung Creek while freeway lanes are also widened.
To maintain connectivity for cyclists and pedestrians, contractors will be constructing sections of temporary shared use path and temporary bridges in Eram Park.
There will be several diversions and detours in place, including detours via local roads.
Short-term closures for up to one hour may be required at times to tie in the temporary bridges; however, this will occur at non-peak night hours.
The detours will be signposted.
