The Victorian Government is seeking public feedback on designs for the new rail bridges and elevated station that will be built at Seaford following the removal of two level crossings at Armstrongs Road and Station Street.
The rail trail to Frankston, built recently as part of the level crossing removals on the Frankston Line, is located close by, on the approach to Armstrongs Road.
This trail will likely have to be realigned as part of the Seaford project, depending on the construction system used to build the proposed rail bridge at Armstrongs Road.
The Station Street bridge is unlikely to affect the trail as at this point the Frankston rail trail runs adjacent to the Kananook Creek.
Construction on the project is due to begin in 2027, with the new Seaford Station open and the level crossings gone for good in 2028.
The new rail bridges and elevated station are intended to provide more opportunities for community spaces, car parking and cycling and walking connections.
The consultation is open until Sunday 7 June 2026.
