Bondi Junction plan boon for bikes

The draft Bondi Junction Master Plan, featuring extensive new bike infrastructure, is now out for public consultation.

The plan sets out a blueprint to redesign the busy Sydney thoroughfare as a cultural, civic and commercial town centre.

The plan envisions a completed east–west dedicated bike path between Centennial Park and Waverley Park, building on the existing Oxford and Spring Street Corridor and completing new links on Hollywood Avenue and Waverley Street.

New bike infrastructure along Bondi Road would support connections further east to Bondi Beach.

There would also be a new and enhanced north–south bike route along Grosvenor Street and Bronte Road to connect Queens Park and Cooper Park.

Oxford Street Mall would host new end-of-trip facilities to encourage people to arrive by bike, integrated with a new train station and arcade.

The reimagined Bondi Junction will feature 3,000 new homes, a revitalised mall with plaza and square, 10,000sqm of new community infrastructure and expanded green space.

You can see the master plan and share your thoughts on Waverley Council's Have Your Say page until Wednesday 24 June 2026.

Community information workshops where you can ask questions about the plan will take place on:

  • Thursday 11 June, 5pm to 7pm (drop in anytime), Boot Factory, ground floor, Spring Street, Bondi Junction
  • Saturday 13 June, 11am to 1pm (drop in anytime), Mill Hill, Community Centre Hall, Spring Street, Bondi Junction.
