Cube cranks recalled

Six models of 2026 Cube e-bikes have been recalled because the cranks can fail in use.

The bikes are in the Cube AMS and Cube Stereo ranges, described as all-rounder mountain e-bikes.

The aluminium inserts from the carbon fibre on the crank arms may suddenly detach from the crank body.

There is a risk of serious injury or death if the crank fails while in use and causes the rider to crash the bicycle.

Consumers are asked to stop using the e-bike immediately and return the e-bike to the place of purchase or an authorised Cube Bicycle distributor for a free repair.

Cube Bicycle is offering two repair options:

  1. receive temporary aluminium cranks, which will be upgraded to carbon replacements when available in 12 months; or
  2. receive permanent aluminium cranks and a free e-bike light.
The affected crank arms are on both left and right sides and in sizes of 160mm, 165mm, 170mm and 175mm length.

The products were sold nationally via dealers and online.
