Police collar live-streaming e-moto rider

An unlicensed teenager riding an unregistered electric motorcycle while he live-streamed his ride through inner Melbourne has had his $25,000 bike seized.

The Stark Future Supermoto 80, one of a new breed of extremely powerful electric motorcycles, came to police attention due to the lack of number plates.

The 17-year-old failed to get off the bike after multiple requests by police and attempted to ride away before being grabbed and arrested by police.

The e-moto was impounded for 30 days at a cost of $999.52 while the rider will be charged on summons.

The Stark Future Supermoto 80 has a power output of 60 kilowatts, somewhat higher than the 250 watts permitted on a legal e-bike that you can ride unlicensed and unregistered.
