Freeway closure may impact riders
The closure of the Eastern Freeway in both directions between Chandler Highway and Tram Road at the weekend will massively impact motor traffic, with some minor inconvenience for riders.

At times there will be short holds on the Willsmere walking and cycling underpass and Main Yarra Trail, near Kew Golf Club.

As well there may be changed traffic conditions to pedestrians and bike riders on Belford Road, between Kilby Road and Wattle Road.

Riders on the Boulevard in the early hours should note that these 24-hour works will create additional traffic between contractor compounds and worksites.

For drivers who are unable to use the freeway, delays of up to 90 minutes are expected.

Workers on the Eastern Freeway upgrade are using the closure to install new freeway drainage and cables for smart traffic management technology as well as to remove overhead gantries and high mast light poles.
