A man has been charged following a collision between a car and a cyclist in Cockatoo on Friday 26 June 2026.
Emergency services were called to the collision on Pakenham Road about 2.40pm.
The cyclist, a 47-year-old man of no fixed address, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
It is alleged the driver failed to stop at the scene and dumped the vehicle at a nearby reserve on Hillside Road.
A 44-year-old Cockatoo man was arrested nearby and released pending further enquiries.
Detectives later arrested the alleged driver, a 27-year-old Cockatoo man, in Cockatoo about 12.20am on Saturday 27 June 2026.
He has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury and dangerous driving causing serious injury.
