Plenty River Trail upgrade underway
The Plenty River Trail is currently undergoing an upgrade, with the construction of a new 3m-wide shared user path.
 
The path will follow along the Plenty River between Old Plenty Road bridge and Lower Plenty Road, then head towards Towyn Close in Lower Plenty.
 
The existing trail will undergo earthworks and concreting and receive new handrails and retaining walls. Some tree lopping will be required.
 
Stage 1 works, from Towyn Close to the Yallambie Park car park entrance, has been underway since May.
 
Stage 2 works, from Yallambie Park car park entrance to Old Lower Plenty Road, are set to begin this month and finish in August.
 
During construction, this section of the Plenty River Trail is closed.
