Rail disruptions this fortnight
Riders are urged to plan ahead for disruptions on several train lines this fortnight. Bikes are not allowed on board buses unless folded and in a bag the size of a Brompton; coaches have some limited capacity for bikes.
 

Ballarat, Ararat and Maryborough lines

Coaches replace trains for all or part of the journey from Friday night 10 July to last service Saturday 11 July.

Belgrave Line

Trains will not stop at Boronia Station from 11.30pm Friday 8 May until spring 2026. A shuttle bus will run between Bayswater, Boronia and Ferntree Gully stations to connect passengers to train services.
 
Buses replace trains between Ringwood and Belgrave from 10.45pm Friday 3 July to last service Sunday 5 July.
 

Bendigo, Echuca and Swan Hill lines

Coaches replace Bendigo and Echuca line trains for all or part of the journey from Friday night 10 July until last service Saturday 11 July.

Coaches replace Swan Hill trains for part of the journey on Saturday 11 July.

Coaches replace evening trains on the Bendigo Line for the entire journey from Sunday 12 July to Wednesday 15 July.
 

Cranbourne and Pakenham lines

Buses replace trains between Caulfield and Westall from 8.30pm to last service each night, Wednesday 8 July to Thursday 9 July.

Train services start and end at South Yarra from first service to 8.30pm Thursday 9 July.

Train services start and end at South Yarra from first service Friday 10 July to last service Sunday 12 July.

Frankston Line

Trains will be busier than usual from 8.30pm Tuesday 7 July to last service Sunday 12 July. For a more comfortable experience, travel before 7am or after 9am when it’s quieter.

Geelong and Warrnambool lines

Coaches replace evening trains on the Geelong Line for the entire journey from Sunday 5 July to Tuesday 7 July.

Coaches replace trains on the Geelong Line for all or part of the journey from Friday night 10 July to last service Saturday 11 July.

Coaches replace trains for part of the journey on the Warrnambool Line on Saturday 11 July.

Gippsland Line

Coaches replace evening Traralgon and Bairnsdale line trains for part of the journey on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 July.

Coaches replace evening Traralgon Line trains for the entire journey from Sunday 12 July to Wednesday 15 July.

Mernda Line

Buses replace trains between Clifton Hill and Mernda from 8.15pm to last service each night, Monday 6 July to Wednesday 8 July.

Sandringham Line

Trains will be busier than usual from 8.30pm Tuesday 7 July to last service Sunday 12 July. For a more comfortable experience, travel before 7am or after 9am when it’s quieter.

Sunbury Line

Buses replace trains between Flagstaff and Sunshine from 8.30pm Tuesday 7 July to 11pm Friday 10 July.

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Sunbury from 11pm Friday 10 July to 5am Sunday 12 July.

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Sunshine from 5am to last service on Sunday 12 July.

Upfield Line

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne and Upfield from 8.30pm Friday 10 July to last service Sunday 12 July.

Werribee Line

Buses replace trains from Newport to Werribee:
 
  • from 11.50pm to last service each night, Wednesday 1 July and Thursday 2 July
  • from 11.50pm to last service, Monday 6 July.

Werribee and Williamstown lines

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne, Laverton and Williamstown from 8.30pm to 11.30pm on Tuesday 7 July.

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne, Werribee and Williamstown from 11.30pm to last service each night, Tuesday 7 July to Thursday 9 July.

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne, Laverton and Williamstown from first service to 11.30pm each day, Wednesday 8 July to Thursday 9 July.

Buses replace trains between North Melbourne, Laverton and Williamstown from first service to 11pm on Friday 10 July.
