From August work will on start realigning the existing north-facing Hume freeway entry and exit ramps on Watson Street, Wallan, and connecting them to the new interchange.
From 5am Wednesday 5 August, the footpath along Watson Street, Wallan, will reopen, allowing people to walk and ride their bikes along the now upgraded paths and across the bridge.
Temporary push-button pedestrian traffic lights will be in place where construction vehicles enter and leave the site on Watson Street to help people cross safely. Please follow signs and use the marked crossing points.
The free community shuttle bus service will end at 9.54pm, Friday 7 August.
From 9pm Monday 3 August until mid-November, both north-facing entry and exit freeway ramps between Watson Street and Hume Freeway will be closed.
Vehicles and cyclists will need to detour via Wallan-Kilmore Road. Please see map below.
When complete, the upgraded interchange will strengthen connections between the Hume Freeway, Wallan town centre and the Wallan East industrial precinct, making journeys safer and more reliable for local residents, businesses, freight operators and visitors.
