harley davidson ebikes
Harley heaven. You pedal, not peddle.

Harley Davidson has released the first images of its forthcoming range of e-bikes. Yes, that’s hogs with pedals.

And very elegant they are too. Colours, tattoos and criminal records will not be required.

Outlaw motorcycle gangs need not apply.

Well, they could, if they wanted a well-designed, comfortable e-bike with an in-frame battery, belt drive and a motor located mid-frame at the cranks.

All very modern and desirable. Except for outlaws.

There are three prototypes shown: a step-through, a flatbar commuter, and something that looks slightly MTB-ish.

The machines are still in development and the company has hinted at a release in 2021.

"Harley-Davidson’s first electric pedal-assist bicycles are light, fast, and easy for anyone to ride,” the company says.

"Designed to shine in urban environments, this all-new line of eBicycles is just one more example of how Harley-Davidson’s More Roads initiative is actively working to inspire a new generation of two-wheeled riders around the world.”

The company has already announced it will introduce an electric motorcycle to the market this year.
