Enjoy the sea air on Wynyard–Somerset loop

The stunning north-west coast and bucolic farm vistas form the backdrop of our Wynyard–Somerset social ride on Sunday 27 October.

Meeting at 11 am at the car park at East Wynyard Beach there will be a choice of routes depending on the distance and elevation you want to tackle.

The full ride will measure 24 km and climb to 247 metres, with the first leg along the coast before turning inland and beginning the climb up to Somerset and then quick roll back down to Wynyard.

If the full ride sounds like too much you can do one of the two easier options.

The first is to ride the reverse of the full ride until you meet with them and then return, this still includes a hill to climb.

And the easier option is to ride east to Bruce’s Café along the coast and return, or ride west to Gutteridge Gardens and Cape Bridge and return.

At the end of the ride at about 2 pm, we’ll have a BYO lunch near the car park if the weather is fine, or somewhere else if it turns.

If you are interested in joining the ride please RSVP on the website

The strength of our social rides program depends on members volunteering to lead rides. Leading social rides is a fun way to "give back" to the riding community, and to help us to get "more people riding, more often".

Bicycle Network Tasmania accredits Social Ride Leaders, and requires anyone interested in leading rides to be accredited. If you would like to be one of our Ride Leaders, please volunteer here and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.
