Port Phillip Council is hosting a free event to promote the newly upgraded bike corridor on Moray Street in South Melbourne this weekend.
The Tour de Moray Scavenger Hunt is on Saturday 26 October from 10am to 2pm.
There will be lots of exciting events, pop-ups and freebies hosted by a range of South Melbourne businesses. Families can get their sleuth on to discover all the exciting events, pop-ups and giveaways around South Melbourne
The council hopes the event will encourage and support the community to ride bikes and show off the newly completed bike lanes.
Activities include guided bike tours of the Tour de Moray route, chauffeured tours in rickshaws for non-riding participants, free bike repairs at South Melbourne Market and a family activities hub at South Melbourne Town Hall.
In 2018 Moray Street saw bike friendly changes as part of works by Melbourne Metro Tunnel to create an alternative route for riders while Anzac station is under construction on St Kilda Road.
It features roundabouts that are the first of their kind in Victoria, which prioritise pedestrian and bike rider safety by having separated bike paths throughout the roundabout, as well as raised zebra crossings.
