Barossa Rail Trail extension now open

An extension of the Barossa Rail Trail between Gawler East and Kalbeeba is now open to the public.

The near 2 km section of smoothly paved trail, funded by both local and state governments, offers riders a safe thoroughfare for hopping on the rail trail from Gawler and riding through to Angaston in the east.

Construction of the trail extension began in February,

The delivery of this extension now means that budding riders in Adelaide can access the rail trail by taking the train to Gawler.

Combined, the Barossa Rail Trail is 44 km long and sealed the entire way. The trail offers riders access to local food, accommodation and, of course, the Barossa wine region.
