Water works disrupt Chapel Street lanes

UPDATE: The project to renew two water mains along Chapel Street is about to reach the Toorak Road intersection.

Night works at the intersection of Toorak Rd are scheduled to start on Sunday 2 April and may take up to 6 weeks to complete.

Works will be from 8:00 pm to 5.30am.

The water main installation along the final section on the east side Chapel are continuing, with road reinstatement works underway.

The water main project in Chapel Street has now moved fully into the street proper and will continue stage by stage along the street.

Bike lanes will be closed in short sections as the works move southward, initially towards Toorak Road.

Each section will take between a week and one month, so riders should expect regular changes in worksite locations.

Work will initially be on the west side of Chapel Street, but later will switch to the east side.

Activities will continue until the end of November, with work ceasing during the December and January holiday period.

The final works will be in February at the intersection of Chapel Street and Toorak Road.
