Child’s Road disruption

There will be minor detours for bike riders and pedestrians on the Child’s Road Bridge crossing at the Darebin Creek starting this week.

Until Monday 14 November contractors are closing a small section of the footpath across the westbound side of the new road bridge to install fall protection barriers and remove temporary fences currently in place.

Pedestrians and riders will need to detour using the eastbound footpath by crossing at either the new Bowman Drive signalised intersection, or the pedestrian crossing opposite Lalor North Secondary College.

As the Childs Road bridge widening and new Darebin Trail connection under the bridge are completed, there are minor works that are ongoing between now and the end of November alongside Childs Road.

There might be small and short day-closures here and there for concreting, barrier installation, utilities and landscaping.

Signage will be in place to guide riders and pedestrians.
