Share your thoughts on Pascoe Vale bike lanes
A new survey is providing bike riders with the opportunity to share their thoughts on protected infrastructure on trial in Pascoe Vale.

Separated bike lanes were installed on Kent Road in June 2021 as part of the Merri-bek City Council's Coburg to Glenroy bicycle link.

The trial was initially planned for 12 months to allow assessment of the lanes across different seasons, daylight hours and school terms.

In August 2021, the council voted to maintain and redesign the lanes. The trial was extended by another 12 months and a series of modifications were made in December 2022. These included:
  • additional space near driveways to improve access for cars and waste collection
  • improved design to allow street sweeping vehicles to access the bike lanes
  • installation of narrower lane separators and pavement markings in place of the refuge islands used in the previous 12 months
  • gaps between the lane separators to improve accessibility for pedestrians crossing the street or exiting parked cars.
Another around of community engagement is now underway and the council is collecting feedback on the design changes made so far. An online survey can be accessed here and is open until 7 May 2023.

The feedback will then inform how the council proceeds with the bike lane when the extended trial ends in mid-to-late 2023.
