New Wild Mersey suspension bridge to open soon

The company that has designed and built a new suspension bridge which connects the Wild Mersey Mountain Bike Trails at Warrawee over the Mersey River has shared photos of the new link.

BridgePro Engineering says at 150 metres it's the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the southern hemisphere.

We have to wait a bit longer yet until we can ride it as work is not finished on the dual cycling and walking trails on either side of the river to connect to the bridge.

Campbell St bike lanes get DA tick

It's all systems go for Hobart's first separated cycleway in the city centre. The City of Hobart's Planning Committee approved the development application for the Campbell Street cycleway last week.

The project will go to tender and it is hoped construction will begin in a matter of months.

The lanes will extend from Brisbane to Davey streets, there will be one block of connecting lane on Liverpool and Bathurst streets and a few short sections of lanes will be created on Argyle Street.
