New crossing for creek connection

A new temporary crossing of Footscray Road will help riders who use the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail through to Docklands while works to upgrade the road bridge and create a bike bridge are underway.

Riders will cross Footscray Road at the Waterfront Way intersection, instead of using the lights at Pearl River Road near the creek and the CityLink off-ramp, .

The new crossing will be in place until April 2024.

Waterfront Way leads down to the Docklands Wheel and riders will cross Footscray Road on the west (Costco) side of Waterfront Way at the signals.

A concrete path has been laid on the north side of Footscray road between the Creek Trail and the new crossing.

Riders should exercise care as they adapt to this new layout, and be especially diligent at complying with traffic signals as it is a complex intersection with multiple traffic signal phases.
