Main Yarra Trail access path upgrades

Access roads in the Yarra Valley Parklands require upgrades to take heavy equipment for upcoming sewer works.

Two access routes will be closed in early February, one from McCubbin Street and the other from The Boulevard further north, adjacent to 607 The Blvd.

The closure dates are subject to weather conditions but are expected to be from 29/1/2024-2/2/2024 at The Boulevard and from 5/2/2034-9/2/2024 at McCubbin Street. These dates do not involve weekend days.

Local detours will be in place. Works will be underway at one site at a time.

The works, part of Melbourne Water’s North Yarra Main Sewer Project, will re-lay crushed rock over the existing tracks to improve conditions for equipment to enter, and will also leave a legacy of an improved trail for riders and walkers into the future.

The North Yarra Main Sewer, constructed in the 1900s, runs from Heidelberg to Ivanhoe East and the relining project requires access to manholes along the way, a number of which are located in the Yarra Valley Parklands.
