Train disruptions on the way around Melbourne

Riders who take their bikes on trains face disruption over the coming weeks, as buses replace trains on several routes around Melbourne.

Riders should note that bikes are not permitted to be carried on replacement buses, unless they are folded and bagged.

Buses will replace trains at the following times:

On the Sunbury, Pakenham, Frankston and Cranbourne Lines:

  • on the Sunbury line between North Melbourne and Sunshine, from approximately 1am Saturday 9 March, until the last service on Sunday 10 March
  • on the Pakenham & Cranbourne Lines between Caulfield and Westall, from approximately 12.30 on Saturday 9 March, until the last service on Sunday 10 March.

On the Frankston line between Cheltenham and Mordialloc:

  • from 8.30pm Friday 1 March until the last service Sunday 3 March
  • from 8.30pm to last service each night between Monday 4 March and Wednesday 6 March
  • from 8.30pm to last service, Thursday 14 March.

On the Frankston line between South Yarra and Mordialloc:

  • from 8.30pm to last service on Monday 18 March and Tuesday 19 March.

On the Frankston line between South Yarra and Caulfield:

  • from 9pm until the last service on Wednesday 20 March.

On the Frankston line between Cheltenham and Frankston:

  • from 8.30pm to last service between Monday 25 and Wednesday 27 March.
