Gardiners Creel Trail closure

A section of the Gardiners Creek Trail at Burwood will be closed to riders for up to six months.

There will be no serious hassles, however, as riders are able to simply take the leg on the west side off the creek to avoid the closed section.

Riders heading south on the Creek’s east-side track will be diverted over the footbridge near Bennetts Reserve to the other side.

Riders who have a destination at the sports grounds or the University on the east side can divert back across the footbridge just a few hundred metres along.

Note that the footpath along the north side of the Burwood Highway will also be closed.

The detour is due to early works by Suburban Rail Loop which is moving underground services and setting up worksites.
