Saturday night closure on Whitehall Street path

This Saturday, 31 August, a 42-metre steel truss will be lifted above Whitehall Street in Footscray as works get underway to install the shared path bridge across the street.

Whitehall Street will be closed to all traffic between Youell Street and Somerville Road on Saturday 31 August, between 7pm and 9am.

This bridge will link the new trail along Harris Street through the West Gate Tunnel northern exit precinct, along the Maribyrnong River to Shepherd Bridge, and then into the elevated Veloway to the Melbourne CBD.

There will be further evening closures when cladding, drainage and flooring is installed on the bridge.

Notification of those closures will be provided closer to the date.
