Riders on the Mornington Peninsula may face detours on key routes over the coming months as works get underway to upgrade an interaction at Mount Martha.
Transport Victoria is installing a signalised intersection at the corner of the Nepean Highway, Forest Drive and Hopetoun Avenue from mid October until late February, excluding the peak holiday season.
From mid-October to 13 December, access to the intersection from Forest Drive and Hopetoun Avenue, and access into Forest Drive from Nepean Highway will be closed.
Detours will be in place on Uralla Road, Bay Road, Somerset Drive, Bradford Road and Bruce Road.
During works, Nepean Highway will remain open and reduced speeds and traffic management will be in place.
Following the holiday break, works on Forest Drive and Hopetoun Avenue are expected to restart in February 2025. Road closures and detours will again be in place.
There could be travel delays up to 30 minutes on detour routes.
Crews will work on site between 7am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, and some Saturdays between 7am to 2.30pm.
