Super Sunday walking and bike riding recreational surveys will take place at more than 380 sites on 10 November and volunteers are needed to ensure every journey counts.
This year, Bicycle Network's annual Super Sunday counts will take place in a record 43 municipalities across Australia.
Registrations are now open and volunteers are encouraged to lock in their spot and help us understand where we need better places to ride. Counting will take place from 9am until 12pm*.
We are looking for counters in:
- NSW: areas including Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Byron Bay, Campbelltown and parts of Sydney including Willoughby, Canterbury, Bankstown, Bayside* and Sutherland*
- Victoria: areas including Shepparton, South Gippsland, Wellington, Hume, Whittlesea and Wyndham.
- WA: counters are required at 14 locations in Broome* in WA.
*Counts in Bayside, Sutherland and Broome will be from 7am until 10am.
Volunteer counters receive a $120 credit towards either their Bicycle Network membership or a donation towards any nominated charity, school, sports club or any other not-for-profit organisation.
The volunteers help us capture vital information on bike riders, e-bike riders, e-scooter riders, walkers, joggers and dog walkers, logging their volume and direction of travel.
This data is provided to local councils to inform decision making around active transport and prioritise projects.
