Northern Rivers Rail Trail clean-up underway
Clean-up efforts are underway along the Northern Rivers Rail Trail following the destruction wrought by Tropical Cyclone Alfred in early March.

Works commenced 28 April along the 24km Murwillumbah to Crabbes Creek stretch, with vehicles including excavators and removal trucks working to remove large fallen branches and shredded vegetation on and around the trail.

They will remain in place for approximately four weeks.

While the popular trail remains open, visitors are urged to take extreme care near work sites, reduce their speed, follow all signage and directions and stay alert around machinery.

Additionally, visitors should remain conscious of small debris such as sticks and leaves on the trail, which may pose a slipping hazard.

Visitors should check the Northern Rivers Rail Trail current alerts page to stay up to date on any new closures or hazards before making a visit.
