Man rides along path in the centre of the St Georges Road median.
St Georges Rd path works may disrupt users

Melbourne Water maintenance crews will be working along the St Georges Road path in Northcote in coming weeks between 7am and 6pm.

One of Melbourne’s major water mains runs under the path, and the meters that measure water flowing in the pipe need upgrading.

Works will take place in two phases. The first phase is expected to start in June 2025 and last approximately two months.

The second phase of the works will start at the end of the year and last for approximately six weeks.

Works will take place opposite Charles Street, Northcote (in the median beside the shared path) and at the Merri Parade end of the median.

The old flowmeters will continue to operate after the new meters are installed while  Melbourne Water monitors the accuracy of the newly installed meters.
