Keep the chill away with a warming social ride

With the weather noticeably cooling down it can be difficult to keep pedalling through the chill, but our social rides are still providing incentive for you to get on your bike with the trusty TBUG rides in the north and city and outskirts rides in the south this fortnight.

Pawleena Penna Circuits – Sunday 20 July

Explore the little-known countryside around Pawleena on this 30km circuit ride on Sunday 20 July, with an option for a shorter 17km route.

Meet ride leader David Atkinson at 9.45am at the large Woolworths car park in Sorell near McDonald's for a 10am start. The ride heads towards little-known Pawleena on a quiet country road (note this section is unsealed) and does the circuit back to Sorell – about 17km.

You can either finish here and have a coffee or continue with the group to do the Penna circuit which is mostly off-road on a dedicated bike track.

The full ride is about 30km with an expected return around 12.30pm for lunch. Suits all bike types and riders. Please RSVP via https://ridewithgps.com/events/363251-pawleena-penna-circuits

Get involved in social rides

If you would like to be one of our social ride leaders, please email our Rides Coordinator with your contact details and what sort of riding you are interested in and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.

You don't have to be super fit or into competitive riding, our rides are a mixed bag depending on the interests of our ride leaders. They offer everything from short 1–2 hour rides, with stops along the way, to day-long excursions.

Our ambassador routes have been developed by our social rides coordinator Di with help from other riders. It's another way of helping more people to ride if you don't have the time to run regular social rides.
