Bathurst seeks active transport strategy ideas
Bathurst Regional Council is running community drop-in sessions to gather ideas on how to improve active transport in the region.

The council wishes to hear ideas for improving footpaths, shared paths, cycleways and associated infrastructure for the present and future active transport network.

This could take the form of identifying missing links in the bike path network or suggesting infrastructure improvements such as lighting, bike parking or signage to make the network safer and more user-friendly.

The council is also seeking initial community feedback on the draft arterial route mapping, including routes that might lead into, through and around the city centre.

To offer feedback, locals can attend one of three sessions:
  • Armada Shopping Centre (between Bakers Delight and Farmgate Butchers), Thursday 21 August, 12pm–2pm.
  • Bathurst City Library (Keppel Street), Friday 22 August, 10am–12pm.
  • Bathurst Farmers Markets (Bathurst Showground), Saturday 23 August, 8am–11am.
The ideas gathered will be used to inform the Bathurst Region Active Transport Strategy (BRATS), which will serve as the key planning document to guide the prioritisation, design and construction of the region's active transport network.

The strategy's development is supported by a grant from the Get NSW Active Program (Transport for NSW).
