Some sections of the newly built Franklin Street will be re-laid due to road surface defects caused by adverse weather conditions during asphalting.
Works will be done at night while the street is closed to traffic between Elizabeth and Swanston streets to from 6pm to 4am until Friday 5 September this week, and from Monday 8 to Wednesday 10 September next week.
The street will remain open during the day.
Riders should be alert to changes in pedestrian movements. During night works, pedestrians can only cross Franklin Street at the dedicated pedestrian crossings at Elizabeth and Swanston streets.
To safely carry out these works, barriers will be set up on the footpath.
A pedestrian diversion will be in place at the eastern crossing at Franklin and Elizabeth Street.
