Warralily works soon underway
Riders through Armstrong Creek can expect to encounter roadworks as Warralily Boulevard gets an asphalt re-seal.

The route is currently used as a detour for bikes while works continue on the connecting Barwon Heads Road.

Construction activities are expected to begin soon and continue in stages until next year.

The existing road surface has shown signs of wear and deterioration due to age, weather conditions and regular traffic use.

The resurfacing will improve safety for bike riders by eliminating potholes, cracks and uneven surfaces.

The City of Greater Geelong is staging the works in the following order:

  • Coastside Drive – Stein Avenue to Surfcoast Highway (September 2025)
  • Warralily Boulevard – Surfcoast Highway to Horseshoe Bend Road (September 2025–December 2025)
  • Warralily Boulevard – Silky Oak Lane to Horseshoe Bend Road (January 2026–June 2026)
  • Horseshoe Bend Road at the intersection of Warralily Boulevard will not be affected.
Works will be completed in approximately 600-metre intervals with each interval taking 5–7 business days

Variable message signs will be placed to notify road users of upcoming works and traffic management will be in place.

The road will be closed from approximately 7am to 5pm each day during works.

In high traffic areas, local school traffic will be maintained from 7am–9am, then detours will begin after 9am for local traffic.

Bike riders will be exempted between Horseshoe Bend Rd to Silky Oak Lane along Warralily Boulevard.

Buses will be exempt from closures and emergency services access will be maintained at all times.

The project is funded by the federal government’s Roads to Recovery Program.
