Looking forward to holiday rides

We don’t publish In the Loop in January, so here’s a heads- up of the social rides that have been schedule so far for next year. Keep your eye on the Events Page as ride leaders may add more rides when they are inspired by the weather on top of those already locked in.

E-bike Coffee Club: Lap of North Bruny – Thursday 15 January

Beautiful Bruny is at its most sparkling in summer – join the e-bike coffee club for a 43km ride around the north of the island on Thursday 15 January.

Meet ride leader Di at 10am sharp in the carpark just below the Oyster Cove Inn to catch the 10.30am ferry for $6 for you and your bike.

The ride is a scenic tour of the quiet northern end of Bruny Island on mostly unsealed roads that are fairly quiet and easy riding. There are some hills and riders will need to be comfortable on gravel.

Note: this is a "fair weather ride". We'll cancel around 8pm the day before if rain looks likely and will advise those who have RSVP'ed. Please RSVP via https://ridewithgps.com/events/342186-e-bike-coffee-club-lap-of-north-bruny

Oatlands, Parattah and Stonor Circuit – Monday 26 January

Fast becoming an Australia Day tradition, the Oatlands, Parattah and Stonor Circuit is a 52km ride to help you while away your public holiday.

Meet ride leader David at 10.15am at the Esplanade Reserve in Oatlands to head out along quiet paths and roads to drink in the countryside.

Coffee afterwards in Oatlands, please RSVP in case of cancellation via https://ridewithgps.com/events/398154-oatlands-parattah-and-stonor-circuit

Get involved in social rides

If you would like to be one of our social ride leaders, please email our Rides Coordinator with your contact details and what sort of riding you are interested in and we'll let you know when the next Ride Leader Skills Development Workshop is scheduled.

You don't have to be super fit or into competitive riding, our rides are a mixed bag depending on the interests of our ride leaders. They offer everything from short 1–2 hour rides, with stops along the way, to day-long excursions.

Our ambassador routes have been developed by our social rides coordinator Di with help from other riders. It's another way of helping more people to ride if you don't have the time to run regular social rides.
