Moonee Ponds Creek Trail closure

The Moonee Ponds Creek Trail will be closed at times this week, but commuter traffic will have clear access.

Bridge works between Dynon and Footscray Roads will close the the trail between 9am and 4pm on Monday 28 August to Wednesday 30 August.

Commuters will need to make detours from Thursday 31 August to Saturday 2 September and on Tuesday 5 September, between 7am to 6pm.

The works are weather dependent so may be rescheduled.

The Footscray Road bike route will be closed between 8pm and 5am from Tuesday 29 August to Friday 8 September.

Regular riders will have encountered the detour during previous closures and flooding of the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail between Dynon and Footscray Roads, which takes riders to the City and Docklands via North and West Melbourne.

The closures are required for works on the steel bridge beams above the trail. Contractors are preparing to fit the road deck, fencing rails and other elements of the bridge.
