As part of works to install new underground power cables across the CBD, there will be disruptions to access to and through the block on Flinders Lane between Queen Street and Market Street.
CitiPower will be trenching within the road reservation in stages from Tuesday 5 August until early September 2025.
While works are underway 7am–5:30pm, traffic control will be in place to safely guide vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians around the work area.
Works will involve multiple crew and vehicles excavating sections of the roadways.
Stage 1 – Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 August. Flinders Lane between Tavistock Place and Queen Street. This section of road will be closed to vehicles during this time.
Stage 2 – Thursday 7 August to Thursday 14 August (weekdays only). Flinders Lane between Market Street and Harper Lane. This section of Flinders Lane will be closed.
Stage 3 – Saturday 9 August and Sunday 10 August. Outside Frys Fast Park at 388 Flinders Lane. The road will be closed in this area; however, traffic controllers will assist vehicles entering or exiting the car park using a steel plate as needed.
Stage 4 – Friday 15 August to Thursday 21 August (weekdays only). Flinders Lane between Harper Lane and Tavistock Place. This section of Flinders Lane will be closed. Access to Frys Fast Park at 388 Flinders Lane will be maintained.
Stage 5 – Friday 22 August to Friday 5 September (weekdays only). Final works will take place between Tavistock Place and Queen Street. This section of Flinders Lane will be closed.
Weather factors may delay works and rescheduling could occur.
