Toowoomba seeks cycleway feedback
Toowoomba Regional Council is calling for community feedback on several proposed cycleway options connecting Newtown residential suburbs to the city centre.

The council recently secured state government funding to undertake a cycleways options analysis determining possible active transport routes for the Newtown to City Centre Active Transport project.

For the first phase of consultation, the council is asking community members to consider four route options for an east-west link between Newtown and the city centre between Tor Street and West Creek. Feedback is also sought on three route options for a north-south corridor, which will connect to the east-west route.
Future consultations will focus on the design of the preferred routes.

Community members can see the route options and provide feedback via an online survey between Monday 4 August and Monday 25 August.

"Council is committed to delivering and maintaining safe, efficient and easily accessible cycleways, and we would like the community's input to help us accomplish this," said Transport and Drainage Planning portfolio spokesperson Councillor Trevor Manteufel.

"This project is an exciting development for our region. It's a chance to support healthy and active lifestyles for our community members."
